THack @ Hamburg

October 13, 2015

With the hackathon season in full swing, our team are off to Hamburg this weekend for the THack@Hamburg which is organised by TNooz in conjunction with IATA (International Air Transport Association).

With a full complement of REST and SOAP APIs available for developers, we are excited to be sponsoring this event which is also offering access to IATA's NDC (New Distribution Capability) compliant APIs for airline shopping and related travel services.

Our range of REST APIs will provide access to all types of airport and flight data including beacon locations, gate status, baggage and baggage reclaim information, weather, flight tracking, and mobile boarding passes. In addition, available for the first time ever at a hackathon event, SITA Web Services (SWS), our SOAP interfaces based on OpenTravel™ Alliance (OTA) XML standards, should inspire a new dimension to developer creations with access to airfare, DCS (Departure Control Services), reservations and ticketing services.

Developers will be challenged to invent technology solutions that will improve the experience for air travel passengers under the following themes:

  • Make it mobile, make it fast – build a mobile application that empowers travelers with hand-held devices.
  • Mobility + connectivity = productivity – build a digital application or tool designed to support the modern business traveler and boost her or his productivity.
  • Shopping/retailing experiences that "wow" travelers and the trade – build a never-before-seen experience or tool that promotes buying and selling travel and related products and services before and during the journey.

SITA’s Developer.aero is also offering a prize for the most innovative solution that uses our APIs. Our team of API experts will be on hand at the event to support you and answer any questions that you may have.
