Red Hat acquires 3Scale

June 24, 2016

It can only be warp speed ahead for the API economy with the coming together two great titans of digital transformation, cloud, APIs and app development.

Following a year of successful collaboration, Red Hat will integrate 3Scale's API management infrastructure with its existing software line, including JBoss Middleware, OpenShift and its Mobile Application Platform, to deliver a comprehensive platform for API-based application development.

This is all good news indeed for the Air Transport Industry, which is steadily embracing cloud technology and APIs to reduce complexity and simplify application development in the spirit of open standards and the sharing of data across all ATI stakeholders, including airports, airlines, governments and third parties.

Developer.aero is based on the 3Scale API Management platform, so we look forward to some exciting new advancements to the platform which we can share with our developer community that will expedite the development of new innovative passenger, airport and aircraft solutions.

In the meantime, it’s business as usual for Developer.aero, with the delivery of some exciting new APIs in the pipeline in the coming months.
