Hello World! Again.

January 25, 2013

Well, we have heard you and taken all your valuable comments on board and today we are delighted to launch the next phase of the SITA Lab developer.aero platform.

Thank you all for the great feedback and the tremendous outpouring of support.

Since we launched the beta version of developer.aero last June, our mission has been to provide developers in the air transportation industry access to data and processes to expedite innovation for the benefit of airlines and their customers via the "the cloud".

Publishing RESTful APIs on developer.aero opens up the power of our distributed web service architecture and the innovation behind our new managed services allowing you to focus on developing your own apps.

SITA is on a mission to increase the number of APIs available. Currently, we are offering the following three APIs:

  • Boarding Pass API, which takes the creation and distribution of mobile boarding passes to a new level.
  • BagTrac API, a baggage tracking API available only as a market trial with select airline partners as we continue to build our global coverage.
  • Airport_Info API, a free "Hello World" API which we posted to allow developers to test and familiarise themselves with SITA's API management systems.

Stay tuned as we plan to launch some new APIs this year.

There are three simple ways to connect with us. Subscribe to our newsletter. We only plan to note major developments such as a new feature or a new API. Second, connect with us on Twitter. And third, follow our developer.aero blog where we plan to post development tips and tricks and other interesting tit bits from time to time.

One final note: If you have previously registered on developer.aero, you will need to re-register. Sorry for that minor inconvenience.

Thank you once again for all your ideas and comments!
