Select Administration > Default Templates

Default Templates

If no distribution channels are set up, the following options can be enabled for default templates:

  • Send SMS for passes issued on the default channel.
  • Send Email for passes issued on the default channel.
  • Enable Push for Boarding Passes.

SMS Template

The SMS Template defines the boarding pass content that is to be displayed in an SMS message.

Select Administration > Default Templates > SMS.

Change the SMS text and fields as required. For a list of available templates, please refer to Appendix A: Template Fields.

To test the content of the SMS message, click on the Test SMS Template button. Ensure that you have some sample data entered to check that the SMS content will be displayed correctly. (See the section on Entering Sample Data).

You can also view the SMS content under Airline Reports. See the section on Checking Boarding Pass and Template Content.

Note: For development and QA environments, 'DEV:' or 'QA:' will be displayed at the start of the received SMSs to alert that this is a non-production SMS.

Email

The Email Template defines the boarding pass information and attachment for an email message.

Select Administration > Default Templates > Email.

Change the Subject and Body text and fields as required. For a list of available templates, please refer to Appendix A: Template Fields.

You can select if you wish to send to following as attachements

  • Boarding Pass Image
  • Apple Passbook .pkpass File
  • Adobe PDF File

If not sent as an attachment, a URL to the resource can be included.

Note: For development and QA environments, 'DEV:' or 'QA:' will be displayed at the start of the email subject to alert that this is a non-production email.

Web Page

The Web Page Template defines the boarding pass information for a mobile web page.

Select Administration > Default Templates > Web Page.

Change the web page content as requires. For a list of available templates, please refer to Appendix A: Template Fields.

PDF Document

A PDF boarding pass may be added to an email as an attachement. By default, this is a PDF version of the mobile web page.

You can create your own customised PDF boarding pass document in the console.

Select Administration > Default Templates > PDF Document.

Default PDF Document Template

Enter your HTML page data into the Main Template box. For a list of available templates, please refer to Appendix A: Template Fields.

This template is automatically saved as a PDF file and can then be attached to your boarding passes or made available to your passengers via your web site or other channels.

Push

The Push Template defines the boarding pass content for a push notification.

Select Administration > Default Templates > Push.

To test the content of the push notification, click on the Test Push Notification Template button. Ensure that you have some sample data entered to check that the SMS content will be displayed correctly. (See the section on Entering Sample Data).

Apple Passbook

Apple Passbook template customisation is described in detail in the Boarding Pass API - Apple Passbook Customisation Guide.

Error Page

The Error Page Template defines the content for an error message in case of difficulties in sending boarding passes.

Select Administration > Default Templates > Error.
